Dr. Foot® Silver Protect toe socks - antimicrobial sneakers toe socks
Knitido Dr. Foot Silver Protect® toe socks protect your feet from bacterial and fungal infections and foot odour. Effective due to a safe cotton thread containing a silver core.
The advantage of toe socks over conventional silver socks and chemical agents: the thread works even in places where conventional socks cannot reach. The silver remains within the cotton thread of the sock and works only through direct contact with the outer shell of the bacteria.
The advantages at a glance:
- certified antimicrobial effect against foot and nail fungus and foot odours
- long-lasting effect
- works especially where conventional socks fail: between the toes
- simple and safe in everyday life and at work
- from 87% cotton, boil-proof, washable up to 60°C
How Dr. Foot Silver Protect toe socks work:
Heel, toes and toe gaps are particularly susceptible to germs. That is why we put the our cotton thread with silver core on forefoot and heel. On contact, the thread dissolves the outer shell of germs and kills them.
Especially the spaces between the toes are protected retreat areas for bacteria and microbes. Toe socks improve your foot climate by widening the spaces between the toes. This change in the microclimate - less temperature and less humidity - worsens the living conditions of harmful germs.
Frequently asked questions
When should I use silver toe socks?
- to prevent from infections, e.g. after visits to communal showers, public swimming pools, etc.
- to prevent foot odour and sweaty feet
- in work shoes to prevent foot infections and odour
- in contact with patients with risk of infection.
Are normal toe socks not sufficient?
Normal toe socks without silver fibre are already a step towards improving your foot health, as they
- widen the spaces between the toes and help improve your foot climate
- sweat cannot accumulate in the toe spaces
- help strengthen the feet and make thema healthier
Toe socks with silver thread have an additional antimicrobial effect by attacking the existing germs.
How are silver toe socks different from conventional socks with silver thread?
Conventional socks enclose the entire foot, but do not reach between the toes. This presses the toes against each other and the ventilation and dehumidification of the spaces between them is reduced. This is a prfect space for microbes to retreat and shelter.
Why is there no silver thread in the material marking?
The European Textile Labelling Regulation does not provide for any labelling possibility for silver threads in the material identification. Our cotton thread has a silver core that is covered in an isolating layer, so that silver cannot leave the fabric.
How many times can I wash my Dr. Foot Silver Protect before it loses its effectiveness?
Tests confirm that even after 200 wash cycles still 99% of the antimicrobial effect is preserved.
